Gay Moller began making bears about five years ago as a hobby. Her bears, which tend towards a quirky style, have done well in competitions in New Zealand.

  Last year she turned professional and began marketing her range of 'Cocktail Bears'. She did three shows last year and has recently exhibited at the Teddy Event in Melbourne. She is also planning on exhibiting at the Mid Winter Christmas Show in Auckland in July and at the National Festival in Hamilton in October.

  The 'Cocktail Bears' are a range crafted in mohair which Gay has hand dyed to represent particular cocktails. It is obvious from their facial expressions that the bears have all been partaking.

  Gay and Mike, her husband of 29 years, live rurally in Northland, New Zealand together with two Siamese cats, two pet goats and several hundred teddy bears.  They have three grown up sons who despair of their 'odd' parents but visit regularly to enjoy the lifestyle.
